: About SAR156
What is SAR156 ?
SAR156 is  Search And Rescue, Post 156 of Monmouth County. We are a non-profit Venturing Crew as part
of the Boy Scouts of America, locally through the Monmouth Council. We are training our members to assist
local Emergency Services with SAR Missions and Assignments.
Who is SAR156 ?
SAR156 is an Emergency Services Team comprised of County teenagers (both boys and girls) from the
ages of 14-21 and adults of all ages. Some of our members join the Post with no previous medical or
emergency services training, some of our members are already State Certified EMT's. Our Advisors are a
group of distinguished Ladies & Gentlemen with Honorable Experience & Service from the US Military and
Civilian Sector Search And Rescue Units.
What can you learn in SAR156 ?
You will be trained and certified in Wilderness First Aid by the American Red Cross, certified as SARTECH
III by NASAR (National Association of Search And Rescue), Land Navigation / Compass & Map Reading,
Wilderness Hiking, Camping & Survival. Your certifications will be yours to keep for interests in other
careers like Law Enforcement, Firefighting or any of the other Emergency Services. This is just a glimpse of
the opportunity!
